In 2005, the United Way of Saskatoon Board of Directors
confirmed that the message heard from key stakeholders is that 211 is a service that is needed and wanted in Saskatchewan. The next steps for 211 Saskatchewan included the establishment of a steering committee of community leaders to assist United Way in implementing the business plan developed by Deloitte.
UW of Saskatoon has invested in the 211 initiative through the Community Initiatives Fund, community building budget and a grant from the Federal government. In-kind corporate support has also been received from SaskTel and Deloitte.
