The AIRS/211LA Taxonomy of Human Services--Canadian Version

211LA County is partnering with InformCanada to bring you the Canadian version of the AIRS/211LA County Taxonomy, the premier classification system for indexing community services records.

InformCanada is proud to present the Canadian English version of the Taxonomy of Human Services. By mid 2008, the Canadian French version of this Taxonomy will also be available. As the representative for the AIRS/211LA County Taxonomy in Canada, InformCanada provides French and English editorial support, training, promotion, administration and outreach. InformCanada represents the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems in Canada and is responsible for ensuring Canadian content in standards materials

In order to access the Taxonomy you must complete the Taxonomy Subscription form. You must also read and agree to the terms of the Subscriber Agreement.

InformCanada members share a commitment to excellence in information and referral and the mission of bringing people and services together across Canada. 2009 Community Information & Referral Conference

The national InformCanada CCIRC conference, hosted by Distress Centre Calgary, was held on September 28-29, 2009 at the Delta Calgary South Hotel, Calgary.

Program

The conference theme was Family, Community, Diversity. Review the conference program for details.

 

Some of our exciting sessions included:

  • Outcome Measurement in I&R - Wondering what to measure and how to measure
  • it?  Come and learn from the experiences of others!
  • I&R in the economic downturn - Learn about how Calgary responded to increased pressure on its service due to the recession and changes to government benefits.  Bring your own stories to share about how the downturn affected you.
  • The Taxonomy Game - Scared about the Taxonomy?  Don't understand it?  Come and learn in a fun setting with your host Roland Kieken and the lovely Bev Imerson!  A game designed to help make the Taxonomy less threatening.

2010 EVENTS

Conferences for the Information and Referral sector in 2010.


The national CCIRC conference is being hosted by Findhelp Information Services on September 27-28, 2010 in Toronto. Save the date! Details coming soon. 

 

The InformOntario Symposium was held in May (2010 date and location TBA). The AIRS conference is set for Rochester, NY. Check the AIRS website for details.
