By joining InformCanada, you are entitled to the benefits of membership with the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS), which includes: a vote in AIRS matters, a subscription to the AIRS Newsletter and AIRS Journal, and discount rates on all publications and conferences.
AIRS is a professional, international umbrella organization for I&R providers with offices in Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon and Washington DC. Through publications and networking, AIRS promotes the image of I&R and conveys new developments in the field.
Members who meet eligibility criteria can become Certified Information and Referral Specialists or Certified Resource Specialists in partnership with InformCanada. AIRS also offers an extensive and comprehensive Accreditation program which is only available to AIRS and InformCanada members. InformCanada has developed AIRS Certification for the Canadian practitioner. The Canadian versions of the Certified Information and Referral Specialist (CIRS) and Certified Resource Specialist (CRS) exams reflect the distinctiveness of Canada in culture, political systems and geography.
