Fall 2009 Online Information Management Training
InformOntario, and its Style Guide Implementation Team, is pleased to announce a series of web conferences to provide education, support and information to its members regarding various elements of the newly-launched IO Style Guide. In support of training which benefits the dual membership, CIOC (Community Information Online Consortium) is providing access to their GoToMeeting and Webinar applications. Sessions will be recorded and made available to all.
Members are encouraged to register for any or all workshops. Limited space (max 15) per event. Future sessions will be planned based on participation and feedback.

#3 – Lighter, Brighter, Tighter Descriptions

Converting from a sentence structure to point form for service descriptions is not always as simple as removing a few nouns, verbs and periods.

#4 – Naming Standard consistency --- ***CHANGE IN DATE***

Unfortunately, the naming conventions in our databases are not always consistent. This makes it difficult to provide a harmonized system within our current database leases, and for future ones. For example, there are at least 6 different structures used for naming the Canadian Red Cross.

· headset compatible with audio features of computer (or other compatible equipment – microphone and speakers or teleconference equipment – but sound quality cannot be guaranteed)

A small file must be downloaded to your computer to access applications. (through the login URL provided with registration confirmation e-mail). Please install 15 mins prior to session to ensure compatibility, etc.
Registration information:
The registration URL for each session links to a separate GoToMeeting registration form. Complete and submit for each desired session. Confirmation will include URL login instructions, etc.
Notices will be sent to all IO members by Sept 14, 2009.
