IO elects 2008-09 Executive

Following its May 2008 Annual General Meeting, the members of the InformOntario Board of Directors has re-affirmed its executive for the 2008-2009 term.

• President - Pamela Hillier, Community Connection
• Vice President - Trudy Beaulne, Social Planning Council of Kitchener-Waterloo/Community Information Centre of Waterloo Region
• Treasurer - Cathy Gowland of Information Durham/United Way of Oshawa, Whitby, Clarington, Brock and Scugog
• Secretary - Christine Geoffrion of Volunteer & Information Quinte

The 211 Ontario Project developed a national "brochure" website that features the key documents related to 211 (such as the Charter and FAQs), and has links to the project news on 211.ca across Canada. www.211Canada.ca

InformOntario Members launch 211

Congratulations to InformOntario members, Community Connection and Information Niagara, who simultaneously launched 211 for Simcoe County and Niagara Region on November 11, 2005. Executive Directors, Pam Hillier (left) of Community Connection and Rosanna Thoms of Information Niagara -- and the many people who helped make 211 a reality in their regions deserve a big round of applause. Information Niagara has experienced over 50% in call volume!
