InformCanada Recommends AIRS/INFOLINE Taxonomy

This paper is intended for all stakeholders in 211. It provides the background required to understand the importance of a bilingual pan-Canadian taxonomy to 211 and proposes a 4-step implementation plan.

Project Overview

We have begun the Planning Phase for Creating a Pan Canadian Bilingual Taxonomy Based on the AIRS/INFO LINE Taxonomy of Human Services. This is the first step in creating a Canadian version of the Taxonomy.  In addition to supporting the development of a coordinated 211 system across Canada, the work will meet a crucial deliverable for the Ontario project, 211 Ontario--Advancing the Consolidated System.
